53.5 hours

That’s all that’s left. After 3.5 years of planning, waiting, fighting and stressing we’re down to 53.5 hours until we start walking down the aisle.

I’m still worried about family issues, my brother isn’t coming, mom and I are on shaky ground, apparently the rest of the family is upset with me because I’ve decided to have friends that are local help with the decorating instead of them who are 1-2 hours away.

I am really ready to have this over and done with, it’s not a super amazing big change for us, it’s really just finalizing something we’ve been doing for the last 3 years. Chris and I already feel married, we’ve lived together for 3 years, we own a house together now, we’ve gone through ups and downs in our lives and this is just being recognized as a full fledged married couple as well as declaring before our friends, family and God that we are planning to do this forever.

It’s a big step, but I have a feeling it’s going to be like a birthday, a huge party, and then everything goes back to normal… I’ll just be putting on 2 rings in the morning instead of 1.

Honestly, the real reason for the whole wedding was to get Chris to go on vacation which he hasn’t done (other than a day here or there) since 1999. And trust me, Hawaii and Vancouver are perfect for us, lots of hiking, lots of relaxing, lots of having fun.

I’m more looking forward to the honeymoon than the wedding.
